New England FOOLS Benefit Raffle for the Matthew Ballou Memorial Fund

In July, South Berwick ME FF Matt Ballou passed away after suffering a medical emergency at home. In addition to being a husband and father, Matt was also a New England FOOLS member. In keeping with our philosophy of “Do The Right Thing” (DTRT), we reached out to some of our friends.

Fall Fire & First Due Boss – October 30 & 31, 2021

Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, we regret to announce that we are postponing this training weekend until 2022.

Due to circumstances beyond our control, specifically related to building repairs, maintenance and certification we cannot be guaranteed that the facility will be ready in time for us.

We have tentatively rescheduled this for April Fools weekend 2022, the 2&3rd of April.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience.

FALL FIRE & FIRST DUE BOSS 2021
DAYVILLE CT
OCTOBER 30TH & 31ST

JOIN THE NEW ENGLAND AND CHARTER OAK FOOLS FOR A WEEKEND OF TRAINING IN NORTHEAST CT

A WISE FIREMAN ONCE SAID, “THE FIRE GOES AS THE FIRST LINE GOES”, AND TRUER WORDS HAVE NEVER BEEN SPOKEN. WITH THAT, THERE IS SO MUCH MORE TO A SUCCESSFUL FIRE ATTACK THAN JUST STRETCHING A PROPER LINE. AS WE ALL KNOW, IF SOMETHING GOES SIDEWAYS AT THE OUTSET, IT GENERALLY MAKES FOR A LONG DAY ON THE FIREGROUND.

THIS PROGRAM WILL INTRODUCE AND REINFORCE SOME TENETS OF BASIC FIREMANSHIP WHILE ADDRESSING AND ACKNOWLEDGING THE REALITY OF OUR EVERY-DAY STAFFING.

THE HANDS-ON PORTION OF THE PROGRAM WILL TAKE US TO THE SIMULATED FIREGROUND WHERE WE WILL FIRST PERFORM VARIOUS SKILL STATIONS INCLUDING STRETCHING HAND LINES IN A HOARDER ENVIRONMENT, VES, STREET SMART LADDERS AND SEARCHING WITH THE TIC. WE WILL ALSO PUT THESE TOGETHER IN REAL-TIME EVOLUTIONS WHERE THE STUDENTS WILL ACT AS THE FIRST-IN AND FIRST-DUE COMPANIES ON A RESIDENTIAL STRUCTURE FIRE.
