2023 marks a significant milestone in the history of the New England FOOLS.  Twenty years ago, this Chapter was formed by a handful of like-minded firemen from around New England.
These ideas stemmed from conversations conducted via AIM messenger on dial-up internet between guys who had never met.  Some of those had been to FDIC and attended classes that made them members of FOOLS International, and others who had simply found a cool website with a guestbook that let you be a ‘member’ of the FOOLS, to live vicariously through and communicate with Brothers from around the country.
From these conversations came the charter members.  Starting with membership from northeastern Mass, New Hampshire, and Maine, today we are over 400 members strong from all six New England states, into Maritime Canada.  From these humble beginnings, we have seen massive changes.  From local meetings stemmed discussions.  From discussions stemmed ideas.  From ideas trainings were born.  From those trainings, what the New England FOOLS is today was born.  The Chapter continues to grow, to change and to evolve into what is hands-down the best Chapter in FOOLS International, and one of the most formidable powerhouses in fire training in the Northeast.
Our mission at its base is preserving and passing along the traditions of the American Fire Service, and we do that through our events.  We are forever grateful that you put your trust in us to deliver what you may not be able to get elsewhere.
We debuted our 20th Anniversary logo designed by Ten-three Graphics at the ’23 Northeastern Fire Summit.
One of the tenets of the FOOLS is “RFB”.  Remember Fallen Brothers.  We incorporated memorials to three of our Brothers who were taken too soon into this design.  For those who might not know, those symbols are an E237 for Rich Nappi, an FDNY Lt who was killed in the line of duty in 2012; a shamrock ☘️ for PJ Johnson based on the pin designed by the Cannon Mountain Ski Patrol and a blue spade ♠️ for EJ Mascaro for his military service as a member of the 26th Infantry Regiment of the US Army.  We love them, and miss them terribly each and every day
